Sobriety calculator: count your days sober and money saved
Enter the date of your last drink. See your days, weeks and months sober, what you have saved, and when your next milestone falls.
To work out how many days sober you are, count the days from the date of your last drink to today. Enter that date below to see your days, weeks, whole months and complete years, an optional money-saved total, and your next milestone. It runs in your browser and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere. Counting conventions vary, so this calculator counts whole days since the date you enter.

How it counts
- Days. The number of whole calendar days between your sobriety date and today. If your last drink was yesterday, you are on day 1.
- Weeks and months. Weeks are days divided by seven. Months are whole calendar months, so a date on the 31st rolls to the last day of shorter months.
- Money saved. Your weekly spend divided by seven, times your days. Use an honest average of what you really spent, not your best week.
- Milestones. The markers are ours (1 day, 1 week, 30 days, 60, 90, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year and beyond). They are a reason to pause and notice, not a clinical schedule.
What if you slip?
This is your call, and people do it differently. Some restart the count from the new date. Others keep the original streak and also note the slip. A useful middle path is to record two numbers: days since your last drink, and total alcohol-free days this year. Whatever you choose, write down what led to the slip, because that is the part you can plan around.
